The Concert Hall Salle Érasme was built in 1974, mainly intended for philharmonic music. Located in the Palais de Congrčs, it is used frequently for many concerts and home of the Orchestre Philarmonique de Strasbourg. Both Musicians and Audience love the Hall for its Acoustics which had been designed by Prof. Lothar Cremer himself.
The side walls of the hexagon-shaped hall are fitted with numerous resonating reflectors; the hall is about 1870m2 large and seats approximately 2000 guests.
Ingemansson France was appointed in 2006 to ensure that the scheduled modernisation of the Salle Érasme would leave the Acoustics unchanged. Some of the work, such as newly painted walls, removal of some textiles and touch-up work on the reflectors, was critical for the acoustics and needed some careful attendance and surveillance.
was appointed by Ingemansson France in Juli 2007 to undertake the final measurements after the renovation. All room-acoustic parameters such as EDT, T20, T30, D50, C80, Ts and more were measured according to EN ISO 3382. This data now enables Ingemansson France to compare the measurements with the ones made before the renovation. From the various measurement tools at our hand, WinMLS 2004 was used due to our high degree of experience with this system and compatibility with the earlier measurements.
